Whether you are single or in a relationship, improving your sex life always starts with you.
The more you know about yourself, the more you know what you like and can then share it with a partner.
And sometimes this is where it is challenging because we don’t really know what we like beyond what we know already.
Unless you have been raised by sex-positive, loving and educated parents, for most of us our sex education was in the best case basic, or non-existent and in the worst case terrible.
On the other hand, what we learned from our culture is sadly based on the male pleasure model. But women’s pleasure works differently from men’s and it is time we deepen our knowledge so we can all enjoy a pleasure-filled life and raise the game.
So where to start?
I want to share 3 books with you that will open your eyes onto new perspectives and hopefully lead you to new highs!
I would suggest starting with getting to know your body and especially your “lady landscape” in a deeper way. Understanding and knowing our anatomy is our way to start taking ownership of what has been called vaguely “down there” for way too long.
Women’s anatomy of arousal: secret maps to buried pleasure by Sheri Winston, will not only make you laugh but will teach you how to read your own tresor’s map. Bonus: there are great tips in there for your partner to learn about your pleasure as well, just make sure to leave the book where he can find it...
Come as you are: the surprising new science that will transform your sex life by Emily Nagasaki Ph.D, is known as one of the most important books about sex. A real gem packed with insights that are both fascinating and deeply useful. Plus I love her friendly and accessible style.
If you still don’t see the connection between your inner power and your inner temple then read on Pussy, a reclamation by Regena Thomashauer (aka Mama Gena). This is my go to book on women’s empowerment, be aware: you won’t be able to put it down once you start and you'll never view the word Pussy quite the same way again ;-)
Pick your summer read and enjoy!
Love,
Camille
